Under the direction of Barbara Casper, M.D., FACP, the University of Louisville Internal Medicine Residency Training Program attracts some of the best and the brightest from across the country.

Our graduates have been very successful whether choosing subspecialty training or practice upon completion of their residency training.

We are very proud that many of them have become leaders in health care administration, research and education on a local as well as a national level.

Our residents have the opportunity of experiencing the practice of medicine in a variety of settings and are exposed to an extremely diverse patient population.

We have very dedicated faculty who are committed to the education of our residents and foster an environment of academic inquiry which has led to a significant number of publications authored by our residents.

We are continually striving to offer the best educational experience for our residents while providing the mentoring necessary to allow them to be successful regardless of their future career choice.
