Executive Task Forces
Task Force - a group or committee, usually of experts or specialists, formed to analyze, investigate, and solve a specific problem.
What is it?
Executive Task Forces are executive committees chair by an elected or appointed member of the SGA executive branch. These Task Forces are issue-based committees. They will observe real student concerns and brainstorm ways to solve them. Task Forces will play an active role in addressing the University Administration and implementing new ideas and programs that produce real change for our University. They include:
The Athletics Task Force: This group will look at issues affecting students’ athletic experience at UofL. They will focus on such hot-button issues at “Ticket Tailgate” (student ticket distribution), student seating at major UofL sporting events, and other issues the Taskforce membership deems necessary.
The Tuition Task Force: This group will be focused on Frankfort. They will help in designing creative means for students to address the Kentucky capital. It will be their charge to better include students in recommitting the state capital to funding higher education.
The Student Services Task Force: This group will brainstorm ways to improve existing SGA Student Services as well as creating new ones. Current services include the SGA DVD Collection and Freshman LEAD among others. What else can SGA to do to save or make students money? You decide!
The Traditions Task Force: As a member of the Traditions Task Force you would have the opportunity to implement new and exciting UofL Traditions. How about an Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament or a Campus Pillow Fight? You decide!
Your Own Task Force: If you believe there is a student concern out there that SGA and/or the Administration is not properly handling, we can help you create you own Task Force and recruit members. You will then have SGA resources behind your ideas!
Who’s it for?
If you are passionate about a student concern the Task Force is for you! If you have great ideas for Ticket Tailgate, how to rally students, a new SGA service, an amazing new tradition, or any idea you feel strongly for, you belong on the Task Force.
