Get INVOLVED! - SGA
SGA greatly welcomes your interest in becoming an active member of Student Government. There is nothing SGA appreciates more than students volunteering to help one another and one of the best ways to positively affect your peers is through SGA.
In the past Student Government has not been entirely inclusive. Even though every student is a member of student government, the only way to be an active member was to be elected or appointed to one of a limited number of positions. Student Government had students asking how they could be a part of advancing student issues, and SGA had little to say besides the nuts and bolts on getting elected.
This was a problem. Whether your political persuasion believes in big government or not, big student government is a benefit to us all. Student Government needs fresh and diverse voices to better represent our constituents. SGA needs more arms and ideas to make us a better vehicle for change. For these reasons and more, SGA has created “GET INVOLVED! – SGA” to allow any student to play a first hand role in improving our campus.
In the following pages you will discover the six ways to GET INVOLVED! Each of the six ways is very different, so take your time and decide which best suits your talents and interests. They include:
Six ways to get INVOLVED are:
- Executive Task Forces
- University-wide committees
- College/School councils
- Student Activities General Board
- Task Force Freshmen
- Freshmen L.E.A.D.
It is never too early or too late to jump on board! SGA looks forward to hearing from you and working with you in making the University of Louisville a better college experience for all its students.
