Higher Education
ur Committment to Improving Higher Education
Supporting Higher Education is important for all students at the University of Louisville. Last year's budget cuts from the state put some university programs and jobs in jeopardy and also led to a hike in tuition for students. So to improve Higher Education at U of L and abroad, we are going to need your support as we begin to champion this cause!
Events
-
Listen up Legislators
Utilizing all channels of communications is important in getting our message across to those who have decision making power in Frankfort. So at this event students will be able to contact their legislator(s) via mail, e-mail, and/or phone to let them know how students feel about their support or lack of support of higher education at U of L. This event will also include pizza for all those who drop in to participate!
-
Voter Registration Drives
Voting plays a crucial part in selecting officials who are serious about improving higher education in the state. And the first step of the voting process is getting registered to vote. In the coming months, SGA will be holding voter registration drives to help students fulfill this civic responsibility.
-
Higher Education Congressional Debate
Meeting and talking with state leaders face-to-face is another great opportunity to promote our cause and to also get to know those who lead us. So to help students in this matter, SGA will be holding a public debate on Higher Education to showcase the views and thoughts of congressional candidates.

Rate my Kentucky Legislator web site
You will be given a chance to publish your opinions about your legislator on an interactive web site that will allow you to rate your legislator on issues relating to Higher Education. Students, as well as the public, are encouraged to see what other U of L students have to say and think. -
