Ramos named to lead Society of Toxicology
Kenneth Ramos, Ph.D., a professor of bio-chemistry and molecular biology at UofL, has been named as the next president of the Society of Toxicology, an international organization of scientists who conduct research in the field. The society promotes a broad range of educational and scientific programs, as well as initiatives designed to protect public health. Ramos' term as president will run from May 1, 2008 to April 30, 2009. Past presidents represent the leaders in the field of toxicology, said Shawn Lamb, the society's executive director. "They literally wrote the book on the subject," Lamb said.
