Sessler, Tobin honored for achievements

Daniel I. Sessler, M.D., and Gordon R. Tobin, M.D.

Daniel I. Sessler, M.D, and Gordon R. Tobin, M.D., recently received honors for their respective achievements in medical research and humanitarian endeavors.

Sessler, UofL's Lolita S. and Samuel D. Weakley professor of anesthesiology, was awarded the 2002 Excellence in Research Award from the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Daniel I. Sessler, M.D, and Gordon R. Tobin, M.D., recently received honors for their respective achievements in medical research and humanitarian endeavors.

Sessler, UofL's Lolita S. and Samuel D. Weakley professor of anesthesiology, was awarded the 2002 Excellence in Research Award from the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Tobin has led several missions to third-world countries to surgically treat birth defects and burns in children.

He also has organized efforts to bring children with complex birth defects to the Louisville area for treatment at no cost to the patient.

Tobin is a co-founder of the Louisville-Vietnam Burn Project.
