This train-the-trainer course provides nurses and nurse educators with essential training in palliative care and provides participants with the knowledge and resources to share this knowledge with other nursing colleagues.

Nurses and staff who currently work in hospitals, hospices, palliative care facilities, clinics, long-term care facilities, homecare agencies, colleges, and universities who want to increase their knowledge in end-of-life palliative care issues should not miss this opportunity. This is a train-the-trainer course and upon completion, you will be able to take this information back to your institution and teach others.

ATTENTION University of Louisville and University Hospital employees: You may download this partially filled out  IUT and return it with your registration for payment. Contact Carol Jones (502-852-3247) if you have any questions.

 

Registration includes:

    • 1000+ page syllabus

    • Tools for take home use: CD (contains entire syllabus), PowerPoint® slides, and supplemental teaching materials

    • Continental breakfast, lunch, and snack breaks for both days

    • 14.7 nursing contact hours (upon full participation for both days)

 

Refund and Cancellation Policy

Registrations that are cancelled and received in writing by October 12, 2011 will be refunded minus a $100 administration fee. After this date, no refunds will be given. There will be no refunds for no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel the program in which the full course tuition will be refunded.

The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Project is a national end-of-life educational program administered by City of Hope National Medical Center (COH) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) designed to enhance palliative care in nursing. The ELNEC Project was originally funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation with additional support from funding organizations (the National Cancer Institute, Aetna Foundation, Archstone Foundation, Oncology Nursing Foundation, Open Society Institute, and California HealthCare Foundation). Materials are copyrighted by COH and AACN and are used with permission.
