Liver Transplantation
Our multidisciplinary liver group was formed when the University of Louisville, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and the Jewish Hospital Liver Transplant program joined forces in 2000. This team is internationally recognized for their research into mechanisms of cell injury in liver disease. Clinical studies are performed in a variety of diseases including hepatitis C, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and alcoholic liver disease. Our noted hepatologists, outstanding transplant surgeons, and devoted RN study coordinators have made us a major regional referral center for cutting-edge patient care and research.
