Goals
PGY 1 Goals:
Understand the basic pathophysiology of disease in order to successfully pass USMLE III
Manage non-critically ill hospitalized patients
Begin to function in the ambulatory care setting
PGY 2 & 3 Goals:
Manage critically ill hospitalized patients
Function effectively and efficiently in the ambulatory care setting
Understand the socio-economics of health care
Utilize community health care resources
Perform basic clinical research and write up the results
Successfully pass the ABFP examination
Progression in the program will be dependent upon the resident attaining
competency in the following general areas:
Patient Care
Medical knowledge
Practice-based learning and improvement
Interpersonal and communication skills
Professionalism
Systems based practice
