PGY 1 Goals:

• Understand the basic pathophysiology of disease in order to successfully pass USMLE III

• Manage non-critically ill hospitalized patients

• Begin to function in the ambulatory care setting

PGY 2 & 3 Goals:

• Manage critically ill hospitalized patients

• Function effectively and efficiently in the ambulatory care setting

• Understand the socio-economics of health care

• Utilize community health care resources

• Perform basic clinical research and write up the results

• Successfully pass the ABFP examination
