Goals

The goals of the core conferences are to:

  • Contribute to the development of attitudes, knowledge and skills so that residents can provide family oriented comprehensive care

  • Supplement the knowledge acquired through residents' rotation schedules and Grand Rounds

  • Provide the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully pass the ABFP examination

Rationale

The Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine Residency Training Program's category percentage of curriculum is based on two criteria guidelines:

  • The American Board of Family Practice Certification/Re-certification Examination

  • National policies (ACGME) general and special requirements for graduate training in Family Practice

The curriculum is accomplished over a three year period and includes the categories and percentages presented below. The categories of OB & Gynecology are covered by the OB Conferences held each Tuesday.
