Bio
I received my M.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1989 and completed my Family Medicine residency at UK as well, serving as chief resident in 1992. In 1992, I was certified by the American Board of Family Practice, and served as the Medical Director for the Department of Family Practice at UK (1994-2004) and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the department (2003-2004). My special interests include practice management, women's health issues, and international medicine. I teach gynecological procedures including colposcopy and Loop Electrosurgical Excisional Procedures and am a member of the American Society of Cytology and Cervical Pathology.
Service is very important to me, and I serve on the International Advisory Board of Healthcare Ministries, the medical missions outreach of the General Council of the Assemblies of God. This activity has taken me to Buenos Aires, Argentina and Bethlehem, South Africa for medical missions and have participated in mission projects in Ayacucho Peru, Lima Peru, and Cuenca, Ecuador.
My family and I relocated to the University of Louisville in 2004 after a career move for my husband. I plan to continue to teach residents and students in the clinical setting while establishing a new practice. The Family Medicine Central Station Practice is my new home, and I am currently available to see new patients.
