Welcome to UofL Geriatrics!

We thank you for choosing us as your doctors, and would like to explain how our practice works.  We are all specialists in the care of older adults (also called Geriatric Medicine) and like to care for patients over the age of 65.  We are all board certified in our specialty and have an added certificate in our sub-specialty, Geriatric Medicine.

We are all members of the teaching faculty at the University of Louisville; therefore, you will see doctors and students in the office and in the hospital who are there to learn more about Geriatric medicine.  These trainees will take great care in seeing you along with your primary care physician and one nurse practitioner assigned as your primary team.  When a member of that team is unavailable, you might see another physician or nurse practitioner in the practice.

As a part of our teaching,  we have physicians working with us who are spending an extra year learning more about Geriatric Medicine.  These physicians are called Geriatric Medicine Fellows.

We take care of our own patients in the hospital.  Each week a different doctor is assigned to care for the hospital patients.  Therefore, your primary physician might not be caring for you the entire time you are in the hospital.  We talk to each other frequently and your primary physician will be consulted about your admission.  We admit our patients to Jewish and Norton's Hospital downtown.  If your preference is to go to Baptist East or Norton Suburban or any other facility, we will not be able to care for you there.  Please contact our office to let us know if you are admitted to the hospital.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.  We have an answering service for any phone calls after office hours if you need to speak to us.  We work by appointments.  We will work patients in to be seen on a daily basis if an acute situation arises.

If you need medication refills, please call your pharmacy and let them know.  They will contact our office to get approval.  Please allow 48 hours for refills to be processed.

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment so we can check you in.  Also, please call to cancel if you cannot make your scheduled appointment.

We are here to help you maintain your quality of life and keep you healthy.  If we can be of service, please do not hesitate to call us at the number listed above.
