The School of Medicine is committed to excellence in the education of physicians and scientists for careers in teaching, research, patient care and community service.  Several resources are available to help you further develop your teaching skills.  One is the certificate program in Health Professions Education, offered by the School of Medicine.  It includes four graduate-level credit courses tailored to meet the needs of educators and/or future educators in the health sciences.  Topics include college teaching, adult development and learning, research methods, and program evaluation and planning.  In addition, the Office of Medical Education regularly sponsors special grand rounds on medical education.  You might also be interested in the Medical Education and Evaluation Research Unit, which supports research in medical education across the continuum of undergraduate and graduate education.

The School of Public Health and Information Sciences offers the Clinical Research, Epidemiology and Statistics Training (CREST) Program which is designed for working professionals who desire a career in academic medicine.  This two-tiered program consists of a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Investigation Sciences and an MSc in Epidemiology-Clinical Investigation Sciences.  Please direct any questions regarding this program to 852-3289.
