Responsibilities: The committee is responsible for the design and management of a coherent and coordinated curriculum. To meet these responsibilities, the committee recommends the goals of the curriculum, determines the most effective means of fulfilling these goals, evaluates the effectiveness of the curriculum in achieving its goals, and recommends changes and innovative improvements as appropriate. Curricular goals include closer integration between clinical sciences and basic sciences, innovative use of technology to enhance student learning, small group and self-directed active learning experiences, and course and clerkship objectives that reflect program learning objectives.
Meeting Dates: This committee meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 3:00-5:00pm. Time commitment: Members spend 2-3 hours reading materials for meeting. In addition, members may be asked to meet between regularly scheduled meetings to conduct subcommittee or task force work. This may (but not necessarily) add an additional 2 hours per week.
