D. Facilities
The office of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is located in the Ambulatory Care Building, Room A3G11. All administrative and research functions of the Division and most patient-care activities run through this office. Active research programs in the division focus on diabetes, including and insulin resistance and islet cell transplantation, exercise and metabolism, and reproductive endocrinology. Clinical activities include outpatient clinics at the University of Louisville Ambulatory Care Building, the Louisville Veterans Administration Medical Center, and Jewish Hospital Heart and Lung Building, — a private office complex two blocks from the school, as well as Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana, a site of a Joslin Diabetes Center. Inpatients are evaluated at the University of Louisville Hospital, the VAMC, Jewish Hospital and Norton ‘s Hospital, two University-affiliated hospitals a few blocks from the Medical School Campus.
