Bio

Dr Sathya Krishnasamy received her medical degree from Kilpauk Medical College in India. She received postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at Illinois Masonic Medical Center-Rush University where she was awarded Best Outgoing Resident for academic and clinical excellence by the Medical Education Committee.  She completed a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Louisville.  She is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and in Internal Medicine. Dr. Krishnasamy is member of The Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.  She was an Instructor in Medicine, primary care physician and hospitalist at Rush University.  She has contributed to veterans’ health care over the past 8 years in primary care and research, and is presently a staff Endocrinologist at the Louisville VA medical center. She conducts patient research in diabetes, complications after bariatric surgery, and Vitamin D in the Metabolic Syndrome. She volunteers in community medical camps, and participates in community speaker programs for diabetes awareness, middle school counseling, and other local and international service activities.
