Event to Benefit Medical Student Clinics
The University of Louisville chapter of the American Medical Association Medical Student Section will sponsor a fundraising event on April 18th to benefit two student-run clinics that benefit the medically underserved in the Louisville community.
The all-ages event will be held at Headliners, 1386 Lexington Road. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and music begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door and may be purchased in advance at http://www.ticketweb.com.
All proceeds benefit the HOPE and GLOH clinics, which are run by UofL Medical Students under the supervision of UofL faculty members who volunteer their time.
The HOPE (Health Outreach and Pediatric Education) Clinic provides free, non-emergency primary care to women and children who are medically underserved.
The GLOH (Greater Louisville Organization for Health) Clinic is a primary care clinic open to men, women and children, which serves a large population of recent immigrants from Asia, Latin America and Africa.
