Motaz Alshaher, MD, FACC, FASE

Assistant Professor of Medicine

Director, of CCU at ULH

Director, Cardiac MRI at Audubon hospital

He serves as the medical director of cardiac MRI at Audubon hospital and the medical director of the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at University of Louisville.

His early research was primarily in the field of molecular biology, where he has developed new assay for Nitric Oxide Synthase (NOS), and he has helped in building new theory of the role of NOS in feeding and appetite control.

His current research interest focuses on how to incorporate the different cardiac imaging modalities in the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases.  He is presently involved in several research projects including the development of novel echocardiographic technologies to assess cardiac and vascular elasticity.   Dr. Alshaher has received multiple awards including research poster award from the American college of physicians (ACP).
