Dr. Ajmani’s general research interest focuses on gross anatomy, anthropology, plastination and embalming.  All the above specialities are related to the study of human material.  He has published a number of scientific research papers in the above mentioned fields.  His research work has been cited in the 37th and 38th editions of Gray’s Anatomy.  His special mention is about the study of the vascular segments of the liver and kidney through a special technique of vascular injection and casting by using the polyvinyl carbonate granules which are normally used in the plastic industry.  He has worked on plastination techniques, mainly S10 procedure.  The technique is used in the long term preservation of the body and body tissues and organs for teaching and research purposes without repetitive use of fresh tissue or sacrificing live animals.

Dr. Ajmani has extensive teaching experience in gross anatomy, clinical anatomy, radiological anatomy, embryology, histology and neuroanatomy.  His teaching responsibilities at the University of Louisville are to teach Summer Remedial Embryology, as well as lecture and laboratory responsibilities in Gross Anatomy for medical and dental students.
