When will I know if my promotion and/or tenure request has been approved?

The Provost's Office will notify the candidate after the Board of Trustees has approved the request. The promotion and/or tenure process takes several months. The department chair receives a copy of the PAT committee's recommendation to the Dean and may inform the candidate of the committee's recommendation at that time. However, this is one of many reviews. The PAT committee's recommendation must be approved by the Dean, reviewed by the Provost, and approved by the Board of Trustees before an action is final.
