The Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) is an Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) group, which advances the full and successful participation and inclusion of women within academic medicine by addressing gender equity, recruitment and retention, awards and recognition, and career advancement. GWIMS activities include faculty development seminars and leadership awards for women, production of a Biannual Report on The State of Women in Academic Medicine, and development of informational tool-kits and GWIMSWatch (a quarterly journal).

Dr. Wagner has joined forces with the Office of Faculty Affairs in our goal to “enhance the full and successful participation and inclusion of women within academic medicine by addressing gender equity, recruitment and retention, awards and recognition, and career advancement;” the explicit objectives of the AAMC’s Group on Women in Medicine & Science (GWIMS), for which she is our Designated Representative.
