Interdisciplinary Care of the Patient with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Care of individuals with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease) requires coordination of care from a number of different health care providers. To help nurses and allied health providers understand the various needs associated with individuals with this condition, the University of Louisville and KentuckyOne Health have designed a half-day symposium scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 from 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Rudd Heart & Lung Conference Center. Participants will be educated on the range of therapeutic services and assistive devices provided by nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, psychologists, physical therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and other health care providers who care for individuals with ALS.
