The event is hosted by the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Division of the Department of Medicine in the UofL School of Medicine. In addition to doc dunking, there will be music, food, a representative from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and a chance to register as a potential bone marrow donor with Be the Match. 

Mohamed Hegazi, M.D., with the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and UofL Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation, is competing in a fundraising effort for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of two local children who are blood cancer survivors. The man and woman who raise the most funds during the ten-week campaign are awarded the prestigious title of Man or Woman of the Year. All funds raised through this Dunk a Doc will be added to his total contribution. Three chances to dunk the doctors are $5, or a guaranteed dunk for $20.
