Residency in Radiation Oncology

A message from the Residency Program Director:

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at the University of Louisville School of Medicine’s Brown Cancer Center. We are a modern and dynamic department, highly focused on multi-disciplinary and holistic patient care.  Our faculty is diverse and highly sub-specialized. We offer training on the most technologically-advanced Radiation Oncology equipment, a dedicated Brachytherapy program, and access to many national and institutional clinical trials.

Our vibrant residents are vital to the clinical operations of our department and this residency program is certainly not an observational experience.  Residents gain a high degree of confidence along a highly complicated disease spectrum, unique to our urban setting and our regional underserved geographic location.  As a result, our residents do extraordinarily well on the American Board of Radiology examinations and are well prepared for either private practice or academic pursuits upon graduation.

We believe you will find our department friendly, compassionate, rigorous, and stimulating.  Louisville offers a high quality of life coupled with an exciting cultural scene. As a renown dining destination, Louisville's restaurants were recently ranked by National Geographic as a Top 10 Food City in the world. We also boast world-class sporting events including the Kentucky Derby, PGA Championship, and Ryder Cup, along with our championship winning professional USL soccer team, Louisville City FC, beginning play in the brand new $65 million dollar Lynn Family Stadium in 2020.

We hope you find this website informative and encourage you to apply to our program and become part of our team.

Thank you,

Adrianna Masters, M.D., Ph.D.
