Dr. Schaffner's primary clinical assignment is with Student Mental Health Services in Campus Health. She received her associate and bachelor degrees in nursing from the Southern College of Nursing. She obtained her medical degree from Loma Linda University, long a leader in preventative health and wellness. Dr. Schaffner completed her psychiatric residency training at the University of Cincinnati and received her board certification in psychiatry and neurology in 1994. She served as Chief Resident at the Cincinnati VA Hospital. Her areas of expertise include women's health, treatment of impaired professionals, brief and long-term psychotherapies, and the use of writing as a tool for individual and systems development.
