Dr. Jacoby provides outpatient psychiatric services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Community Based Outpatient Center (CBOC). She received her undergraduate degree in chemistry and medical degree at Marshall University. Dr. Jacoby completed her psychiatric residency training at West Virginia University and a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of South Carolina. She received her board certification in psychiatry in 2005 and forensic psychiatry in 2007. Since completing her residency, she has held clinical faculty positions at the University of South Carolina, Emory University, the Medical College of Georgia, and Mercer University. Dr. Jacoby’s clinical forensic experience includes Violence Risk Assessments, Suicide Risk Assessments, Competency to be Executed Assessments, Sexual Reoffending Risk Assessments, Fitness for Duty Evaluations for police, firemen and physicians, and assessments for transitioning those found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity back into the community. She has completed numerous court ordered Competency to Stand Trial and Clinical Responsibility evaluations of criminal defendants with a particular interest in death penalty cases. Dr. Jacoby has been an invited expert at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy for Post Conviction Relief hearings in capital cases and for mock trials at the National College of District Attorneys at the National Advocacy Center.
