Dr. Howard provides outpatient psychiatric services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Community Based Out Patient Clinic (CBOC). She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and medical degree from the University of Louisville. Dr. Howard completed her residency at the University of Louisville where she was Chief Resident. She received her board certification in psychiatry in 2003. Dr. Howard spearheaded the development of a VA Indiana CBOC Treatment Team Protocol for effectively interfacing the VA Behavioral Health Lab, VA Primary Care Physicians and VA Mental Health Clinic to effectively treat veterans in crisis with emphasis on patient safety and excellent, timely clinical care. In addition to her clinical service, she supervises psychiatry residents and medical students during their VA rotation and teaches group interview and mental status demonstrations.
