Fellowship Application Process

Neonatal Fellowship

Applications may be submitted via ERAS® – The Electronic Residency Application Service.
When submitting your application through ERAS, please include the following:

  • ERAS common application form
  • Current CV
  • Personal statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (one letter must be from your residency training program)
  • Wallet size photograph
  • Medical school transcript
  • USMLE transcript
  • ECFMG status report (for International Medical Graduates only)

Application Deadline

Applications are accepted July 1 – October 1 each year. All materials must be received to be considered complete.  Since we cannot set up interviews until all materials are received, we urge applicants to complete the process of obtaining letters of recommendation, transcripts and forms on a timely basis.

Following a review of the applications, applicants that are a good match for our program will be contacted to set up an interview. Interviews will be scheduled between September and October.  The Division of Neonatology provides candidates with one night hotel accommodations as well as a dinner with our current neonatal fellows the evening before the scheduled interview.

Our interview day involves faculty and fellows of the division and a tour of the University of Louisville NICU and Norton Children’s Hospital NICU.  If you have specific research interests, please make this known prior to your visit and we will set up time with faculty involved in that area of research.

The Match

We participate in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) for all positions.  Please review the National Residency Matching Program web site for match registration policies and dates - www.nrmp.org/fellow/index.html
