Janice E. Sullivan, M.D.

Dr. Sullivan serves as the Principal Investigator of the University of Louisville Pediatric Pharmacology Research Unit (PPRU) and the Chief & Medical Director of the Kosair Charities Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (KCPCRU). Her research interests center around investigator-initiated and Phase I-IV industry-sponsored clinical trials and she has been the Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator on over 50 clinical trials. She also maintains an active Critical Care practice and has served as a member of the University of Louisville Biomedical Institutional Review Board (HSPPO) since 1998.

Dr. Sullivan received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1988 and completed a residency in Pediatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1991. She also completed a fellowship in Pediatric Pharmacology and Critical Care at the Case Western Reserve University/Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, Cleveland, OH in 1995. Dr. Sullivan accepted a faculty appointment at the University of Louisville in 1995 and is currently a full professor. She is the author of 24 peer-reviewed publications primarily in the areas of pediatric clinical pharmacology and critical care. She is board certified in Pediatrics, Critical Care and Clinical Pharmacology and was recently elected as a fellow of the Society for Critical Care Medicine.
