Medical Education:
James J. Miller, Ph.D. earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1989 followed by a fellowship in Clinical Chemistry also at the University of Louisville, Department of Pathology. Dr. Miller is a diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Chemistry, a fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry, and is a Past-President of the Clinical Ligand Assay Society. Dr. Miller directs the general clinical chemistry, immunoassay, and electrophoresis sections of the University of Louisville Hospital Laboratory and is Co-director of the Clinical Chemistry and Toxicology Fellowship Program.

Specialties:
Myocardial markers, quality control, interferences, and laboratory informatics.

Research Interests:
Markers of post-traumatic brain disorder, biomarker validation and application, mechanisms of interference, and clinical laboratory informatics.
