William C. Gump, M.D., earned his undergraduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), as well as the AANS/CNS Joint Sections on Pediatric Neurosurgery, Tumors, and Spine and Peripheral Nerve Surgery.

Dr. Gump is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. He is active in the Society of Neuro-Oncology, the North American Skull Base Society, and the American Epilepsy Society, where he is a member of the Surgical Treatments Committee and the Student & Resident Education Committee. He works closely with colleagues in neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, otorhinolaryngology, pediatric surgery, and plastic surgery, as well as oncology and radiation oncology, to treat children with complex neurological diseases.
