Biography

Dr. Anand Vaishnav received his Medical Degree from the Vadodara Medical School at the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, India. He subsequently moved to United States and did hid Neurology Residency at New Jersey Neuroscience Institute, Edison, NJ.

After completing his Neurology Residency, he completed a Vascular Neurology Fellowship at the Oregon Stroke Center at Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, Oregon.

He then moved to Lexington, Kentucky where he joined the Department of Neurology as an Assistant Professor of Neurology. During his tenure at University of Kentucky, he was the founding director of the Stroke Unit at University of Kentucky Hospital. He then moved to University of Louisville and presently he is the Vice-Chairman of Neurology at the department of Neurology, University of Louisville School of Medicine.

During his tenure at University of Kentucky, Dr. Vaishnav also obtained his Master of Public Health at the College of Public Health at University of Kentucky.

Dr. Vaishnav is Board Certified in Neurology (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) and Vascular Neurology (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology)

Dr. Vaishnav has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the field of Vascular Neurology and is an ad-hoc reviewer of multiple medical journals. He has also receive teaching awards at the University of Kentucky and has also obtained a Teacher Recognition Award by the American Academy of Neurology.

Research Interests

Dr. Vaishnav has a primary interest in epidemiology of stroke with specific reference to stroke in young and outcomes research in stroke. He also has a specific interest in subtypes of ischemic stroke.
