April 22, 2016 - Dr. Lorel Brown, assistant professor of medicine in
UofL’s Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, won first place in the category
of “Young Investigator Awards in Cardiovascular Health Outcomes and Population Genetics” from the American College of Cardiology earlier this month. The award was presented at the organization’s 65th Annual
Scientific Session in Chicago. It also was published in the April 5 issue of
the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

April 16, 2014 - Aruni Bhatnager, Ph.D. receives SIGS outstanding mentor award. This is not the first mentoring award Dr. Bhatnagar has been awarded--he was also named SIGS' 2009 Outstanding Faculty Mentor, and subsequently serves on the SIGS Mentor Advisory Board.

Feb 6, 2014 - UofL physicians at Jewish Hospital performed their 100th TransCatheter Aortic Valve replacement (TAVR).  UofL Division of Cardiovascular Medicine's Michael Flaherty, M.D., Ph.D., and the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery's Matthew Williams, M.D., and Kendra Grubb, M.D., were part of the TAVR team.
