Nov 7   “Interprofessionalism in Primary Care-the Intersection of Family Medicine and Dentistry”

Speaker: Valerie Weber, DMD, Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of General Dentistry and Oral Medicine, UofL

Learning objectives: Understand the importance of interprofessional practice and describe why it
produces better treatment outcomes. Discuss some common dental issues seen in family practice settings.
Acquire contact information to assist patients in accessing dental care at ULSD.

Learning objectives: . To discuss common causes of sudden cardiac death in athletes and underlying mechanism, and to appropriately identify what patients require screening and what type of screening is appropriate.

Speaker: Charles Kodner, MD Associate Professor, U of L, Department of Family and Geriatric Medicine

Learning objectives: Describe the key clinical features, diagnosis and management of “Cardiac Syndrome X” or microvascular angina. Describe a management strategy for patients with typical angina but a non-diagnostic cardiac evaluation.
