What is Family Medicine, UofL-style?

UofL Physicians - Family Medicine practices (at Cardinal Station, Newburg and Center for Primary Care) strive to provide patient-centered care incorporating team based, comprehensive, coordinated care in order to deliver the best possible healthcare services for you.  Your healthcare team is made up of your choice of a Primary Care clinician and a team of nurses and support staff to work with you to meet all of your healthcare needs. Our electronic healthcare tools (along with other resources) will assist us in providing the best personal medical care, tailored specifically for you. We are also all professors and researchers at the University of Louisville School of Medicine, teaching tomorrow’s physicians, leading research in new innovative medical advancements and bringing progressive, innovative, state-of-the-art health care to every patient.

In addition to conducting ground-breaking research and teaching tomorrow’s leading doctors, the faculty in our department who deliver direct care to patients are members of the UofL Physicians academic practice group. UofL Physicians is the largest multispecialty practice in the region, serving more than 200,000 patients annually, with 600 physicians, 78 specialties and 1,100 team members.

If you are looking for a physician that will take the time to develop a deep understanding of  you (the patient), as a whole person, then look no further.  We realize that you have many choices and we welcome you to be our partner. The practice includes family medicine, primary care, chronic care and sports medicine. Fourteen faculty, 26 residents and fellows and 40 clinical staff provide services near the UofL campus and near Newburg Road and the Watterson Expressway.
