Fall 2014 Prospective Applicant Letter

Fall 2014 Prospective Applicant Letter

The fall 2014 application cycle is closed. The fall 2015 application cycle begins on December 1.

Dear Prospective Fall 2014 Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Post-Bac Pre-medical Program at the University of Louisville! This program is designed for college graduates and career changers who have decided to return to college to complete their pre-med requirements and prepare for medical school. We are seeking academically strong applicants with a proven genuine interest in medicine.

Our program has its own application process, separate from general admissions and doesn't require an application fee. We have rolling admission and students are encouraged to apply early. The application cycle runs December 1 - March 15, 2014. You will be notified once all application materials have been received. Allow us time for processing and reviewing your file to determine an interview. If granted an interview, arrangements can be made via Skype (web) or in person. The entire process may take up to four weeks or more, pending the application pool size and interview schedule.

Before embarking on this application process, please take a moment to read the following material. Make sure that you meet the requirements and appear competitive. This is a big step and you want to think through the financial and time commitment it requires. Be sure to review the general admissions information. Once you've done that, if you're still motivated; please proceed with the application process.

If accepted to our program, you must also be admitted to the University of Louisville as a non-degree post-bac through the College of Arts & Sciences. This can be done prior to apply to our program or after a decision has been made by our program to accept or deny you. You may call Undergraduate Admissions at 502-852-6531 or visit the the admissions office's website for more information.

General Admission to UofL does not guarantee admission into our program. Applications will receive separate notification regarding their status int he Post-Bac Pre-medical Program. We do not give acceptance/denial information over the phone, bu you may check to see if your file is complete or if a decision has been made. Applicants are notified of their status via e-mail.

Keep in mind that there are numerous post-bac pre-med programs throughout the U.S. with various requirements. You're encouraged to apply to additional programs. Seek ones that you are most competitive for and will benefit from the most.

If you have any further questions, please contact our office at 502-852-2879 or send and email to tonia.thomas@louisville.edu. We look forward to receiving your application!

Sincerely,

Tonia D. Thomas
Program Director
