THE INTERVIEW COMPONENT

If selected to interview, scheduling arrangements will be made through our office.  You will notified and provided dates and times to choose from.  Our interviews are virtual via Microsoft Teams.

For Career Changers

The interview is an important component of our selection process and should be taken seriously.  This is a professional interview, so please dress and prepare accordingly.  You are not only being considered for our program but also as an assured admission candidate for our medical school.  There are three interviews conducted.

  • One will be a panel interview with the Program Advisory Committee which includes the Manager of Pre-health Pipeline Programs and representatives from the U of L School of Medicine.
  • The other two will be individual interviews with a medical school admissions committee member.
  • Interviews may be conducted all in one day or may be scheduled on different days pending the interviewers/interviewee's availability.
  • The interviews are approximately 30 minutes each.

The interview is basically a conversation which allows us to get to know you better as a potential student in our program and as a future medical student and physician.  It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about our program.

For Record Enhancers

  • One interview will be conducted by the Program Advisory Committee which consist of the Manager of Pre-health Pipeline Programs, the Student Success Specialist and other medical school staff on the Health Sciences Center Campus. There isn't an assured admission component attached to our program. 
  • The interview will be approximately 30-45 minutes.

The interview is basically a conversation which allows us to get to know you better as a potential student in our program and as a future medical student and physician.  It is also an opportunity for you to learn more about our program.
