Program Overview

The Winter Skin Seminar is a 5 day program designed to update the practicing dermatologist on new developments in dermatology, from diagnosis and management of complex dermatologic disease to current surgical and cosmetic procedures. Updated information will be provided on drugs in dermatology, connective tissue disease, immunobullous disease, dermatologic oncology, cosmetic and surgical dermatology, pediatric dermatology, and clinicopathologic correlation.  Through early morning and late afternoon lectures and question and answer sessions, participants will glean new information and pearls which can be implemented in practice to provide better care to patients.

Register by December 15, 2015 to save $145 off the regular registration fee.

Target Audience
This activity is targeted toward practicing dermatologists, family practice physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals interested in the topics presented.

Course Learning Objectives
1. List the characteristics of patients who require potassium monitoring while on spironolactone for acne.
2. Describe the evidence supporting the safe use of topical calcineurin inhibitors in patients with atopic dermatitis.
3. Describe appropriate management of atopic dermatitis with topical steroids and, as needed, systemic immunosuppressive medications.  
4. Order the appropriate pulmonary assessments for a patient with a new diagnosis of cutaneous sarcoidosis
5. Describe the latest treatments for psoriasis and options for combination therapy to improve patient satisfaction.
6. Describe the preferred time frame for antibiotic use in patients with acne, according to the latest guidelines.
