Program Overview

This symposium features a comprehensive educational program discussing the most up to date topics in general and medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, pediatric dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and dermatopathology.  Internationally recognized faculty will provide both scientific and practical sessions in a collegial and casual atmosphere where questions and interactive discussion are encouraged.  

The 2015 Winter Skin Seminar will be held in Lake Tahoe, California at the Resort at Squaw Creek.  Located on 195 hillside acres beneath the mammoth peaks of Squaw Valley, the Resort at Squaw Creek is 5 minutes from North Lake Tahoe and offers all of the amenities expected at a top-notch ski and snowboard destination.  It is conveniently located 42 miles west of the Reno/Tahoe International Airport, 100 miles east of Sacramento, and 200 miles east of San Francisco.  Squaw Valley was home to the 1960 Winter Olympics and many activities beyond the mountain are also available!

Course Objectives
Construct a differential diagnosis for common and uncommon dermatologic problems affecting children and adults.
Design a plan for evaluating children and adults with cutaneous disease.
Manage patients with dermatologic disease utilizing medical, surgical and procedural methods.
Recognize and avoid complications from medical and surgical treatments.

Selected Specific Learning Objectives:
1. Describe the association between obesity and psoriasis and identify appropriate management of obese psoriatic patients.
2. List the appropriate assessments for a patient with a new diagnosis of sarcoidosis.
3. List the benefits of inpatient consultative dermatology for patients and providers, and describe ways to improve reimbursement from  
consultative dermatology encounters.
4. Describe the latest treatments for psoriasis and options for combination therapy to improve patient satisfaction.
5. Describe the approach to management of the patient with acne, according to the latest guidelines.

Outcomes
Provide your patients with an enhanced diagnostic approach.
Familiarize yourself with recommended and new therapeutic protocols.
Gain knowledge in regards to interpreting diagnostic tests for cutaneous diseases.
Compare and contrast your current practices with leading dermatologists in the field.

Refund Policy
Requests for cancellation must be submitted to cmepd@louisville.edu on or before Friday, January 9, 2015. Requests received on or before Friday, January 9, 2015 will receive a full refund less a $25 processing fee. No refund will be given for requests received after January 9, 2015.

Rooms at the Resort at Squaw Creek are limited, so we suggest that your hotel reservation is made as early as possible to ensure the special meeting rate. In addition to the rates set forth above, there will be a daily resort fee of $25.00 per room, per night, which is subject to a 10.065% tax, includes:

Wireless internet access in guestrooms ,USA Today (Monday-Friday) , complimentary self-parking , complimentary ski valet Service , first 30 minutes per call for local and toll-free phone calls, telephone credit card/1-800 access fees, in-room coffee and tea service, Squaw Valley Shuttle Service, unlimited use of the resort’s health club facilities, safety deposit use at the front desk, pool and jacuzzi usage.
When reservations are made, a deposit equal to the room rate and tax for the first two nights for each reservation will be required.  An individual’s deposit is refundable to that individual if the Resort receives notice of cancellation at least fourteen (14) days prior to scheduled arrival.

A 10% discount for equipment rental will be offered to meeting attendees.

Complimentary shuttle service to the base of Squaw Valley USA
During the winter ski season, the shuttle departs from the ski-lift circle while ski lifts are operating.  In the afternoon, the shuttle pick up location moves to the porte cochere near the front lobby.  Times and frequency may change depending on weather, traffic and resort occupancy.
