Skin of Color Seminar Series, May 3-4, 2014
The Skin of Color Seminar Series (SOCSS) is a 1.5-day, live continuing medical education activity designed to provide education and insights into treatment protocols for the increasing US population of patients with skin of color. The goal of 2014 SOCSS is to allow participants to explore the relationship between common skin disorders in patients from a variety of ethnicities toward effecting optimal care and patient satisfaction. Established in 2010 the Skin of Color Seminar Series is designed to improve patient outcomes by increasing knowledge of dermatologists, dermatology residents/fellows, young clinicians and dermatology physician extenders by presenting the latest evidence-based data regarding treatment of patients with skin of color. The 2014 attendance goal is 300 practicing dermatologists, derm residents and fellows, and allied health professionals with an interest in improving skin of color patient outcomes in dermatology. SOCSS will include didactic, evidence-based lectures, patient case vignettes, interaction between faculty and participants via ARS mobile technology, printed materials to foster further self-exploration and live demonstrations.
