Advances in Neurology 2017: Updates in Epilepsy and Headache - May 20, 2017

The 9th annual Advances in Neurology course hosted by the University Of Louisville Department Of Neurology will be held in conjunction with the annual spring meeting of the Commonwealth Neurological Society. The conference will offer continuing medical education credit, as well as, continuing education credit for nurses, nurse practitioners, psychologists and other allied health professionals. This year’s focus will be on epilepsy and headache, two areas within neurology which are quite common and have undergone significant recent advances.

Learning Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Properly select and prescribe the newer antiepileptic medications.
2. Properly evaluate and manage epilepsy in adolescence.
3. Recognize, evaluate and refer for ongoing management of the psychological aspects of headache and epilepsy in adolescence.
4. Recognize, evaluate and manage pseudotumor cerebri.
5. Identify and be able to evaluate and manage the comorbidity of migraine and epilepsy.
