Scholarships

The McConnell Scholarships are renewable for four years for promising young leaders who plan to major or minor in Political Science through the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville. The scholarships are normally for tuition and a modest stipend for books. Exact amounts are determined by the Selections Committee.

Scholarships are awarded to talented, deserving high school seniors reflecting the state's geographic diversity. The goal of the McConnell Scholarship Program is to train Kentucky's future generation of leaders through the following programs and activities of the Center:

  • Lectures and seminars conducted by successful leaders and experts;
  • A broad education in political science and the liberal arts;
  • Practical internships to help students develop the knowledge, values, and skills they need to be exemplary leaders for Kentucky.

If you are a Kentucky high school senior, have an interest in public service, and have demonstrated a capacity for leadership, this scholarship program may be for you.
