Jakob Sherrard, of Elizabethtown, Ky., is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2023 at the University of Louisville where he plans to study political science and history.

High School
Jakob is a graduate of Central Hardin High School where he was the president of his high school's Y-Club. He also participated in Beta Club, Varsity Club and the Saint James Catholic Church Youth Group. He participated in the Hardin County Early College Program and graduated with 55 college credits from Elizabethtown Community College.
To me the McConnell Scholarship both rewards my academic career thus far, while also symbolizing the beginning of my education. I am beyond honored and grateful for the opportunities that will come with being a McConnell Scholar, and I’m eager to begin taking advantage of them.
