Emma Lawson, of Springfield, KY, is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2021 at the University of Louisville, where she studies political science and communication. She is a member of the UofL Honors Program and a Harlan Scholar.

Emma is a 2017 graduate of Washington County High School, where she was the president of her school's chapter of the National Honors Society. She was a 2015 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador, as well as the 2016-17 Vice President of Competitive Events for Kentucky Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. Additionally, Emma was a 2017 National Beta Scholar and a GE-Ronald Reagan Scholar Finalist from Kentucky. She was a 2016 Kentucky Governor's Scholar at Northern Kentucky University.
