Allison Boarman, of Owensboro, Ky., is a member of the McConnell Scholar Class of 2023 at the University of Louisville. She is pursuing a double major in political science and communications.

High School

Allison is a graduate of Daviess County High School where she was secretary of Young Democrats, National Honor Society and student government. She was also a member of Y-Club, Beta Club and Impact 100, a regular volunteer at Girls Inc. and a participant in the McConnell Center’s 2018 Young Leaders Academy. She received the John Yarmuth Book Award, the Flora Hornbeck Scholarship and the John B. and Brownie Young Scholarship.

I am ecstatic to have earned a place among the Class of 2023 McConnell Scholars. To be chosen for this prestigious award is a tremendous and humbling honor.  Among other things, I eagerly anticipate the multitude of educational and service opportunities that the University of Louisville McConnell Center will provide.
