McConnell Scholar Diana Lalata (’17) will spend the summer interning at the United States Library of Congress in Washington, D.C, as a part of the library’s "Junior Fellows Program." This is the third consecutive year with a McConnell Scholar in the position, previously held by Victoria Allen ('16) and Alicia Humphrey ('17).

“I am very excited and humbled by the opportunity and can’t wait to see what D.C. is like in the summer,” Lalata said.

Lalata is a native of Louisville, Ky., where she graduated from Southern High School in 2013. She currently serves as the Diversity Chair for the Engage Lead Serve Board at the University of Louisville, where she is studying English, Spanish and political science.
