Director invited to Army War College's national security program

Cucoto, Commandant of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Penn., will host the 8th annual “Commandant’s National Security Program” from July 22-25. The theme of this year’s conference is “Strategic Leadership for Global Challenges to National Security” and will bring together national security experts, senior military officers and civilian leaders to discuss international leadership challenges in the 21st century.
The U.S. Army War College was founded in 1901 under the motto “Not to promote war, but to preserve peace through intelligent and adequate preparation.” Graduates of the program include former President Dwight D. Eisenhower, Gen. George S. Patton, Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf and Gen. Tommy Franks.
“I am flattered to have been asked to attend this important meeting of leaders from around the nation, and I am privileged to be able to serve the Army and our nation,” said Gregg, who holds the Mitch McConnell Chair in Leadership at the University of Louisville.
Gregg, a political scientist, is the author or editor of 10 books. He is currently working on a biography of George Washington's formative experiences before the American Revolution.
