The McConnell Center invites all Kentucky K-12 teachers to apply for the annual Teacher Scholars Program (TSP), a yearlong professional development program for 30 teachers that culminates with a summer travel conference in 2015.

Educators can earn over 30 hours of professional development credit.

Participants will engage in a lecture and seminar series entitled, “Debating America,” and will interact with visiting national experts on American history, government, economics, and literature. Anticipated program topics include the following:

·Who was the Greatest American Founder?

·What was the Role of Islam at the American Founding?

·Is America Too Big? Size, Republicanism, and Human Flourishing in America

·Is Common Ground Possible? Liberals, Conservatives, and the Search for Cooperation

·Would Two Presidents be Better than One?

·Those Angry Days: The Unremembered Fight on Whether to Enter WWII

The priority consideration deadline is Friday, June 13th. All applications will be considered on a rolling basis until spots are filled.
