(Feb. 21, 2013) LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Janna Imel, a junior McConnell Scholar from Greenup, Ky., was one of 20 University of Louisville students to submit a research poster.

Imel, under the mentorship of Suzanne Meeks and Shruti Shah of the University of Louisville's psychology department, presented research entitled, "Comparing Resiliency in Early and Late-Life Bereavement." Her project considered the differences in negative emotions, affective complexity and repressive coping between bereaved younger and older adults.

Posters-at-the-Capitol is an annual event hosted collaboratively by UofL, Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Kentucky State University, Morehead State University, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University. The event is intended to demonstrate to state officials the importance of involving undergraduates in research, scholarly and creative work.
