Two scholars named to Freshmen LEAD

(Sept. 10, 2010) LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hunter Pittman and oSha Shireman, both McConnell Scholars from the Class of 2014, have been named to the Freshmen LEAD program at the University of Louisville.

Pittman and Shiremanwere selected from a competitive pool to engage in bi-weekly workshops, an overnight retreat and several service projects.

The program is designed so that participants' leadership skills are heightened as the year progresses and equips them with the essential tools to carry their skills on to additional campus leadership involvement opportunities.

Freshmen LEAD participants generally channel their skills into campus involvement including student government, fraternity and sorority life, student orientation staff, among others.

Sixty-three students were selected to join the 2010-2011 Freshmen LEAD team.
